My name is Michael, a writer living in Northern Virginia— by way of Coastal Maine, where I spent twenty-eight years, and Texas, where I was born and raised.
A lifetime of travel, people encountered along the way, and more than a few years of observing the peculiarities of human nature have convinced me that nearly everyone has at least one story in them. I enjoy trying to find it—even if that sometimes requires getting a little creative.
I began writing seriously at age 75, when I moved to The Mather, a continuing care retirement community and joined a Writer's Group. Of course, I've been writing all my life, but never have I been stretched to come up with new plots and themes on a weekly basis. I've discovered that I like doing this and that I may be pretty good at writing.
Some pieces here are fiction, some grow out of history, and occasionally I write about my own life. I hope you'll find something that stays with you after you've finished reading... Thank you for your visit. Come back anytime.
